TeamViewer Wins Gold at Microsoft EMEA Builders Hackathon 2026

News | 09.10.2026

IT teams are under growing pressure to resolve employee incidents faster while reducing repetitive workload. At the Microsoft EMEA Builders Hackathon 2026, part of the Microsoft Global Hackathon held in Copenhagen from September 14 to 17, TeamViewer demonstrated how AI-powered IT support can be embedded directly into the tools employees already use every day.

What was announced

A TeamViewer team secured the Gold award, placing second at the Microsoft EMEA Builders Hackathon 2026. The event brought partner companies together with Microsoft engineers and product specialists to design and test AI prototypes with real-world impact.

TeamViewer was represented by Jonas Beer, Clemens Peer, Jakob P\u00fchringer and Marcel Schwarz. The team developed a prototype called TeamViewer QuickFix, which connects Tia, TeamViewer's Intelligent Agent, with Microsoft 365 Copilot. Through Copilot, an employee can request IT help in natural language. In the background, TeamViewer identifies the affected device and issue, recommends a fix, requests the required approval and confirms resolution.

For the final three-minute pitch, the team demonstrated a familiar scenario: PowerPoint fails just before a presentation, the user asks Copilot for help, and the issue is resolved end-to-end without leaving the workflow.

Why this matters

For CIOs, CISOs, IT directors and procurement leaders, the QuickFix concept signals a shift in how enterprise IT support can be delivered. Instead of forcing users to switch to a separate ticketing portal, support is triggered inside the productivity tools already in use. This reduces downtime, decreases Level 1 ticket volume and improves employee experience.

By combining TeamViewer's broad device reach and remote connectivity with Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI troubleshooting, organizations gain a practical blueprint for operationalizing AI in day-to-day IT operations.
