Competition for undergraduate students to demonstrate their expertise in mechanical desig with ZWCAD and ZW3D

The ZWSOFT CAD 2024 competition is open to students from all over the world to showcase their experience and knowledge in mechanical design.

ZWSOFT CAD 2024 contest terms and conditions

• 24-Hour Design Sprint: from the moment the competition tasks are announced, participants have one full day to complete the design project
• Free to enter: The competition is open to university and vocational school students from around the world
• Global scale of the competition: Connect with fellow students around the world and showcase your talent on an international platform
• Objectives of the competition: Improve CAD skills, especially in 3D modeling.

ZWSOFT CAD 2024 design competition tasks and criteria

The competition criteria for each project task are as follows:

Task A: 2D drawing of a mechanical product (using ZWCAD MFG)

Task B: 3D modeling (using ZW3D Education)

Contestants may choose either one task A or B or take part in both tasks. All contestants must complete the competition independently using the specified ZWSOFT software.

Competition criteria for each design task

Competitive projects will be judged based on criteria that reflect the core values of professional mechanical design. Criteria include:

Correctness

Integrity and correctness of the model/drawing. Elements and annotations must be fully compliant with the design requirements.

Technical skills

Proficiency and accuracy in the use of ZWSOFT software.

Engineering Drawing Knowledge and competency 

Ability to read and create professional engineering drawing 

Aesthetics

Visual appeal and overall design presentation

Innovation

Originality and creativity in solving design challenges

Competition prizes for each design task

1st Place Award (1 team): Certificate, Gift Card/Coupon worth US$ 500 for Task A and US$ 800 for Task B. Also tickets for a trip to ZWSOFT HQ office in China.

2nd Place Award (10 teams): Certificate, Gift Card/Coupon worth US$ 100

3rd place Award (15 teams): Certificate, ZWCAD and ZW3D Educational License.

1. The recipients of monetary awards must be students.    
2. ZWSOFT CO., LTD.(Guangzhou) reserves the right the adjust the numbers of the prize winners.
3. ZWSOFT will present an Outstanding Mentor Award to the mentor corresponding to the 1st prize winner.

until June 30, 2024: Registration for participation in the competition, application submission

from 10:00 a.m. July 20 to 10:00 a.m. July 21: 24 hours to complete contest tasks.
