Google Cloud and Mahindra Deploy Gemini Enterprise Agent in Cars

News | 24.08.2026

Automotive OEMs face rising pressure to move beyond rigid voice commands and deliver truly conversational, context-aware in-car experiences. Legacy infotainment systems struggle to combine natural language understanding, real-time vehicle data and personal context in one intuitive interface.

On August 15, 2026, Mahindra and Google Cloud announced the debut of the all-new Mahindra BE 6 SPORTEQ series with an automotive agent built on Gemini Enterprise. This is the first time an Indian OEM integrates a Gemini Enterprise-based automotive agent directly into production vehicles, delivering personalised, conversational in-car intelligence.

What was announced

The collaboration embeds the automotive agent from Gemini Enterprise into Mahindra Artificial Intelligence Architecture (MAIA), the updated software platform of the BE 6 SPORTEQ. Instead of relying on fixed voice commands, MAIA uses advanced Gemini models to interpret natural, conversational human intent.

The system covers voice-controlled climate, lighting and window management, media playback, live weather updates, on-demand vehicle intelligence, interactive entertainment, complex route navigation and access to the owner's manual. For example, if a driver says the cabin feels cold, MAIA can decide whether to adjust the AC or close the windows; a request to see the stars can trigger the sunroof to open.

Why this matters

For CIO, CISO and IT leaders in automotive and mobility, this launch signals how agentic AI moves from pilot projects into shipped products. It shows a repeatable pattern for building software-defined vehicles on a managed AI stack, with clear implications for data management, model governance and multi-cloud security.

Procurement leaders can see how Gemini Enterprise supports domain-specific agents that combine live telemetry with user context, reducing the need for bespoke NLU stacks and accelerating time-to-market for connected vehicle features.
