FortiOS 7.6 reaches the highest component security level defined by the IEC 62443-4-2 industrial cybersecurity standard.

What was announced
Fortinet announced that FortiOS 7.6 has achieved IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 4 certification. This makes FortiOS one of the very few network security operating systems independently certified to the highest component security level of the standard, covering FortiGate Next-Generation Firewalls used to segment and protect industrial control systems, SCADA networks and mission-critical OT assets.
The certification confirms that FortiOS 7.6 satisfies all seven foundational requirements of IEC 62443 — identification and authentication control, use control, system integrity, data confidentiality, restricted data flow, timely response to events, and resource availability — up to SL4 rigor, including protection against attackers with extended resources and ICS-specific skills.
