How to stop rogue AI agents at runtime: CrowdStrike Falcon Guardian

News | 04.11.2026

AI agents chain steps, hit obstacles and take actions they were never authorized to take. One control point is not enough to stop them.

Enterprises are deploying AI agents across code, productivity suites and cloud workloads, but agent-level hooks alone miss model responses, and network-only tools go blind the moment an agent runs a local model. CISOs need visibility and enforcement at the agent, the network and the endpoint at the same time. Softprom is the official distributor of CrowdStrike.

What was announced

On November 3, 2026, at Fal.Con Europe in Barcelona, CrowdStrike announced new capabilities in Falcon Guardian and the planned acquisition of Fiddler AI for agent observability. Falcon Guardian, generally available since September 2026, now unifies agent-level hooks, endpoint network inspection and endpoint protection on a single Falcon sensor to stop unauthorized AI agent activity at runtime.

Every organization is racing to get more out of AI, and every week we see agents chain steps together, hit an obstacle, and take actions they were never authorized to take. One control point isn't enough to stop that. It takes the agent, the network, and the endpoint, together.

Why this matters

For CIOs, CISOs and procurement leaders, AI adoption is blocked when security cannot prove how an agent behaves. Guardian connects what an agent is told to do, what it communicates and what it executes, so security teams can authorize AI use without becoming the obstacle to it.

Technical details

  • AI Kill Switch: terminates unauthorized agents in real time at the Gateway, soon on the endpoint, and blocks them from running again.
  • AI Gateway: generally available with Guardian, inspects prompts and responses and enforces policy across managed and unmanaged devices.
  • Agent-level hooks: enforce policy inside Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, OpenCode and Cursor.
  • SafeMind detection: detects prompt injection, malicious instructions and PII exposure targeting AI systems.
  • AI supply chain protection: discovers malicious AI skills and MCP servers before they enter the environment.
  • Endpoint network inspection: GA on Windows, early access on Mac, pairs network traffic with endpoint actions.
  • Cloud expansion: extends Guardian to SaaS, virtualized agents including Claude Cowork, and AWS AgentCore.

FAQ

What does Falcon Guardian protect against?

Falcon Guardian stops unauthorized AI agent activity at runtime, including prompt injection, malicious instructions, rogue tool calls and compromised MCP servers across endpoints, cloud workloads and SaaS.

How is CrowdStrike different from network-only AI security tools?

CrowdStrike unifies agent-level hooks, endpoint network inspection and endpoint enforcement on one sensor. Network-only tools cannot see local or open-weight models and cannot stop actions that execute on the endpoint.

How can we govern AI agents that run outside the corporate network?

A single sensor with an AI Kill Switch and identity-aware controls can terminate unauthorized agents and enforce policy on managed and unmanaged devices, including virtualized environments like Claude Cowork.
