CrowdStrike Agentic Identity Provider: AI Agent Identity Security
News | 09.09.2026
A new identity layer for the era of autonomous AI agents inside the enterprise.
As organizations deploy AI agents that act, decide and access data on behalf of users, traditional identity providers built for humans and service accounts cannot keep pace. Agents create, spawn and delegate across applications at machine speed, generating a new attack surface that legacy IAM tools were never designed to secure. CrowdStrike is addressing this gap with a dedicated identity foundation for agentic AI.
What was announced
CrowdStrike introduced the CrowdStrike Agentic Identity Provider, positioned as the foundation for AI agent identity security within the Falcon platform. The solution extends CrowdStrike Next-Gen Identity Security to cover human, non-human and AI identities in a single continuous model, giving security teams a unified way to authenticate, authorize and govern AI agents across their lifecycle, from development through runtime.
The Agentic Identity Provider is designed to work with the broader Falcon portfolio, including AI Detection & Response, SaaS Security and Cloud Security, so that agent identities are visible and controllable across endpoints, cloud workloads and SaaS applications.
Why this matters
For CIOs, CISOs and IT leaders, the rapid adoption of AI agents introduces a class of identity risk that existing IDPs, PAM and ITDR tools do not fully cover. Agents can inherit excessive permissions, act outside intended scopes and be targeted by prompt injection or supply chain attacks. Without a dedicated identity layer, organizations lose visibility into which agent performed which action and on whose behalf.
Every AI agent is a new identity that must be discovered, authenticated and continuously governed like any other privileged account
By anchoring agent identity to the Falcon platform, security and IT teams can enforce least privilege, detect anomalous agent behavior and respond to identity-based threats without deploying a parallel stack.
Technical details
- Unified identity model: covers human, non-human and AI agent identities in a single control plane.
- Agent lifecycle coverage: secures agents from development through adoption and runtime.
- Falcon platform integration: works with AI Detection & Response, SaaS Security, Cloud Security and Next-Gen Identity Security.
- Continuous authentication and authorization: enforces least-privilege access for agent actions.
- Cross-domain visibility: correlates agent identity signals across endpoint, cloud and SaaS.
- Threat detection and response: identifies compromised or misused AI agents in real time.
