CrowdStrike and AWS Launch $100,000 International AI Security Challenge: "AI Unlocked: Agents of Chaos". The virtual competition is open internationally starting August 31.

As organizations rapidly adopt autonomous artificial intelligence, AI agents have become new digital identities to govern and complex attack surfaces to protect. Traditional cybersecurity solutions were not designed for machine identities that execute code, move data, and interact with enterprise software at machine speed.

Inside the Challenge: Hands-on AI Red Teaming

"AI Unlocked: Agents of Chaos" is an interactive virtual game that puts participants inside a fictional shadow organization weaponizing AI agents. To prevent a global cyberattack, players act as undercover red-teamers using real-world techniques—such as prompt injection and agent hijacking—to manipulate adversarial AI agents, trick them into exposing secrets, and stop them before they strike.

The competition highlights critical real-world vulnerabilities, demonstrating how autonomous models can break containment, execute unauthorized actions, and why runtime security is essential for enterprise AI pipelines.

Structure & Prize Pool

The virtual competition is open internationally starting August 31, with scoring based on puzzle completion and prompt token efficiency. Players can also experience on-site gameplay at CrowdStrike's Fal.Con conference. The $100,000 prize pool is split across three distinct stages:

• Act 1: The Sanctum (August 31 – September 7) — $10,000 prize pool
• Act 2: The Gatekeeper (August 31 – September 14) — $20,000 prize pool
• Act 3: The Basilisk (September 15 – September 29) — $70,000 prize pool
