Citrix Platform Flex: Persona-Based Secure Access 2026
News | 26.05.2026
IT teams across CEE face mounting pressure: rigid licensing, fragmented tools, and unpredictable costs — while hybrid work and AI-driven workloads demand faster, more adaptive infrastructure.
On May 12, 2026, Citrix announced Citrix Platform Flex — a full-stack secure access platform that unifies software, management, and cloud infrastructure to deliver secure application access, managed desktop services, enterprise browser, and zero-trust access. At its core is a persona-driven consumption model built around how different types of workers actually operate.
What was announced
Citrix Platform Flex replaces traditional one-size-fits-all licensing with a Flex credits model. Organizations purchase a pool of credits and apply them to the right level of performance, security, and resilience for each workforce persona — scaling up or down as business needs change.
The platform is built natively on Microsoft Azure, leveraging Azure compute, networking, storage, identity, data, and AI services. It supports orchestration of thousands of virtual machine start and deallocate operations within minutes, enabling large-scale and seasonal demand management. Platform Flex is available across more than 10 Azure regions worldwide, and eligible usage counts toward Azure Consumption Commitments.
The first offering under Platform Flex is Citrix DaaS Flex — a persona-based Desktop-as-a-Service solution that delivers enterprise-grade virtual desktops and applications on cloud infrastructure managed by Citrix, based on a predictable per-user flat-rate model.
