If your machines, controllers, or network devices are placed on the EU market, they must comply with the EU Cyber Resilience Act from 11 December 2027. On 19 November at 4:00 PM (CET), Belden hosts the webinar The EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), Through Belden’s Lens: regulation status, standards and Belden’s path to practical compliance. Softprom is an official Belden distributor.

What Is the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA)

The Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) is Regulation (EU) 2024/2847, which sets mandatory cybersecurity requirements for products with digital elements — from industrial switches and controllers to software. It entered into force on 10 December 2024. Reporting obligations for actively exploited vulnerabilities and incidents apply from 11 September 2026; from 11 December 2027 CRA compliance becomes a condition of CE marking. The obligations fall on the manufacturer regardless of where it is based — and reach integrators, distributors and operators through the supply chain.

What You Will Learn

  • Scope: who is affected by CRA and what products with digital elements means in practice.
  • CRA vs NIS2: product security obligations vs operational obligations — and how they connect.
  • Five critical CRA requirements: secure by design / by default, vulnerability handling, updates and support, documentation.
  • Standards and evidence: which standards support compliance, including IEC 62443 alignment.
  • Next steps: practical actions for manufacturers, integrators, distributors and operators, including SBOM readiness.
  • Practice: how to translate CRA/NIS2 requirements into security outcomes — and how Belden’s cybersecurity portfolio supports implementation across products and operations.

Who Should Attend

  • Machine and equipment manufacturers that ship products with networked or embedded components to the EU market → what changes in the product, documentation and support.
  • System integrators and OT network designers building to European customers’ requirements → how the choice of switches, routers and industrial firewalls affects compliance of the whole system.
  • Cybersecurity and compliance engineers at industrial sites → how CRA relates to NIS2 and IEC 62443, and where to start.

Speakers

  • Alexandre S. Peixoto — VP Products DOM – Security, Belden. Responsible for Belden’s security products, including industrial firewalls and network access control.
  • André Lehmann — Lead Engineer I, R&D – Security Advisory, Belden. More than 10 years in cybersecurity, advising on the security of industrial products.

Belden and Industrial Cybersecurity

Belden manufactures industrial networking and cybersecurity solutions: Hirschmann managed switches (BOBCAT, GREYHOUND, MACH), EAGLE and Tofino industrial firewalls, hardware data diodes, macmon network access control, cabling systems and Lumberg Automation connectors. The webinar shows how a network equipment manufacturer brings its own portfolio in line with CRA — and what customers and integrators can take from it.

FAQ

Yes. Any manufacturer placing products with digital elements on the EU market — devices with network interfaces, controllers, embedded software — must comply, regardless of where it is registered.

NIS2 regulates the cybersecurity of organisations and critical-infrastructure operators; CRA regulates the security of the products with digital elements themselves. An industrial company can be a NIS2 entity and a buyer of CRA-compliant products at the same time.
