Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Enhances Private 5G Offer in 2026

News | 14.07.2026

Industrial environments increasingly rely on robotics, Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), IoT sensors, and connected workers that demand deterministic, low-latency connectivity. Wi-Fi alone cannot guarantee this level of reliability across metal-dense production floors, large outdoor yards, or high-interference sites. Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise addresses this challenge with an updated Private 5G offer designed to make cellular-grade connectivity simpler to deploy and easier to scale.

What was announced

On July 7, 2026, ALE International, operating under the trade name Alcatel-Lucent, announced the general availability of its updated ALE Private 5G offer. The release introduces new indoor and outdoor access points, a new AP-only deployment architecture called AerFlex, an updated edge platform, and an extended professional services portfolio spanning site surveys, validation, on-site expertise, and managed services.

With this release, ALE delivers three commitments: simpler deployment through AerFlex, easier scaling across multi-site environments, and value beyond connectivity via a complete services portfolio.

Why this matters

For CIOs, CISOs, IT directors, and procurement leaders in manufacturing, logistics, transportation, and energy, Private 5G is no longer an experimental technology. It is a contractual performance commitment where spectrum is licensed privately, data stays on-premises, and coverage extends to areas Wi-Fi cannot reach. Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise remains the only vendor delivering LAN, WLAN, and Private 5G management from a single platform, reducing operational overhead and unifying inventory, alarms, and topology.

Traditional Private 5G deployments require baseband units, dedicated packet cores, custom cabling, and specialist installation. AerFlex eliminates these constraints by embedding authentication, NAC, DHCP, firewall, and Edge AI processing directly in the AP, cutting time-to-connectivity from months to days.

Technical details

  • AerFlex architecture: AP-only deployment, no on-site servers or racks, APs connect via standard PoE to existing LAN switches.
  • New access points: Indoor and outdoor options for larger, more demanding, and multi-site environments.
  • Zero-touch provisioning: Cloud-based scaling without a specialist engineer on-site at each location.
  • OmniVista integration: Private 5G APs appear alongside OmniSwitch and OmniAccess Stellar in one inventory, one alarm console, one topology view.
  • End-to-end security: Automatic VLAN segmentation and per-application QoS policies.
  • Open device ecosystem: IoT gateways allow existing devices to connect without replacement.
  • Target industries: Manufacturing and Industry 4.0, logistics and warehousing, transportation, energy and utilities.
